Robert Cathcart grew up in Aiken, SC and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Music Education. He received his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary – Charlotte in 1998. Ordained in 1999, Robert served Hilton Head Presbyterian Church as Assistant Pastor for two and a half years. Robert is married to Sarah, who is the daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of Presbyterian ministers! The Cathcarts have four children:  Robert, Sally, Margaret, and Charlie. While serving Friendship, Robert earned his Doctor of Ministry through Erskine Seminary’s Institute of Reformed Worship. Robert enjoys reading, writing, playing basketball, and spending time with his family. He also writes new hymns that the congregation sings on occasion.  The Cathcarts have thoroughly enjoyed ministering to the Friendship family since 2001.
